Past News News: We regret to announce that, as of autumn 2005, the McGill Speed Dating Club has ceased to operate. Over the years, our club has been committed to helping students connect. Our numerous events have allowed hundreds of students to build friendships and find romance. Although we are saddened to end the McGill Speed Dating Club, nothing brings us more pleasure than knowing that we were responsible for countless memorable dates, romantic affairs, and friendships. Thank you for your interest in McGill Speed Dating, April 1, 2005: McGill Speed Dating celebrated its two-year anniversary last night, bringing this academic year to a close. An 80% match rate was reported, so we'd like to wish our participants good luck with their hook-ups. March 16, 2005: Last night, we celebrated St-Patrick's day with a little green, lots of drinking, and a match rate of 63%. Erin go bragh! February 9, 2005: Valentine's day and chocolate! Tonight, participants were served a variety of chocolates, and the result was a sweet match rate of 86%. February 8, 2005: McGill Speed Dating is briefly featured in this week's edition of the McGill Tribune. Click here to read it. January 25, 2005: Tonight we tried something different... a special event involving sushi! Different types of sushi were served throughout the evening, while everyone had a great time speed dating. The match rate for tonight was 67%. September 28, 2004: Our graduate-student event took place tonight, and it turned out to be a really fun evening. Good luck to all with your matches (75% match rate)! September 21, 2004: Tonight we held the semester's first event for undergrads and we're glad to report that it was another success (72% match rate)! April 1, 2004: Tonight was McGill Speed Dating's one-year anniversary event, held in conjunction with McGill Charity Network's Fundraising Marathon (all of tonight's sales were donated to Dans la rue). The match rate for the event was an impressive 89%! Good luck to all, and thanks to everyone for making this a great year for McGill Speed Dating! March 9, 2004: McGill Speed Dating and Queer McGill joined forces once again for a special event open to everyone. Tonight's match rate ended up being 96%, which is, so far, the highest one we've ever obtained! Just awesome! February 11, 2004: Romance was in the air tonight, as we held our special Valentine's event and we (not surprisingly) achieved our highest match rate (90%). We'd like to wish everyone good luck with their matches as well as a very happy Valentine's Day! January 29, 2004: Last night's event was the semester's first, with a 68% match rate. Thanks to everyone for coming, and best of luck with your matches! December 2, 2003: McGill Speed Dating held the semester's last event tonight, exclusively for grad students. With a 64% match rate, it was an awesome night, and a truly memorable way to end the year. We'd like to wish everyone good luck on their exams/papers, and happy holidays! See you next year! November 11, 2003: McGill Speed Dating was mentioned in an article appearing in this week's issue of McGill Tribune (Nov 11). Click here to read it. November 5, 2003: Tonight was McGill Speed Dating's first ever same-sex event (in conjunction with Queer McGill/Dyke-Days), and we're proud to announce that it was a great success (90% match rate). We hope to plan more great events with Queer McGill in the near future. October 29, 2003: Well, tonight's event was fun... despite a disappointing 33% match rate! :) We'd like to thank our participants for making it a great evening. September 24, 2003: This evening's event was definitely a memorable one... ;) The match rate was 70%, and some partcipants ended up with up to four or five matches. We all had a great time, and we wish everyone good luck with their match(es)! September 16, 2003: The semester's first McGill Speed Dating event took place this evening, and 80% of participants ended up with at least one mutual match.
